Brandt Snedeker’s Lifetime Offer of Free Golf Lessons Fails to Keep Coach James Franklin at Vandy

Despite efforts by at least one Commodore fan to keep Vanderbilt football coach James Franklin in Nashville, Bruce Feldman of CBS reports that Franklin will become the next head coach at Penn State.

Brandt Snedeker — a 2004 Vanderbilt graduate who has since become one of the PGA Tour’s top putters — had promised an unparalleled golf instruction package to the 41-year-old coach in return for his renewed commitment to the Black and Gold, but the allure of Happy Valley proved too strong for the Pennsylvania native.

After a remarkable three-year run with Franklin at the helm that included 24 wins, back-to-back-to-back bowl appearances and two season finishes in the Top 25 after decades of SEC bottom-feeding, Vanderbilt’s gridiron future is uncertain, as several top recruits told the Tennessean they would consider reopening their recruitment should Franklin leave the program.

Sorry, Sneds. At least you can share your SEC heartbreak with Auburn superfan Jason Dufner. Looks like he could use that putting lesson anyway.

In case you missed it, Franklin hasn't signed anything yet.  Slow down.

I easily would have stayed & got the lessons from Sneds, but I can't blame the man for going either.
