Rickie Fowler Tops Tee Shot at Zurich Classic Pro-Am, Takes Mulligan

News

Tour pros, they’re just like us! Once in a while at least.

While playing in a Zurich Classic pro-am in New Orleans on Wednesday, Rickie Fowler topped his tee shot. Check out the video:

Fowler is one of the biggest stars in the field this week and he has been all over New Orleans, spending time with celebrity chef Emeril, and bowling with his Golf Boys friend Ben Crane.

He is playing Thursday and Friday with Patrick Reed and defending champion Billy Horschel.

Update: Fowler responded on Twitter that he intentionally topped this tee shot. That’s one more thing we can’t do on purpose.

Maybe that's why he missed the cut by 5 shots in the big easy. It's obvious he must have been too tired from all his playing lately.  SO why didn't he skip the event and let somebody else have a shot.  He was a favorite to win this week.  Well, these new kids just don't care enough about winning.  The don't need the money from tournaments anymore.

Obviously he did it on purpose. The intentionally topped tee shot at the pro-am is something these tour pros enjoy doing to mess with people's minds. What the article should be about is how impressive it is they can top a shot at will if they want.

@Constantine major assumption on your part. I saw Gary Player shank a 5 wood once. stuff happens even to the pros!

@WarrenTaylor @Constantine  They updated the article to say he did it on purpose. Stuff happens though I agree. Remember when Tiger fatted that driver in Dubai last year? He definitely wasn't kidding that time haha.
